Aspects of hypercorticism diagnostics and treatment in therapeutical practice

Syndrome of hypercorticism (Cushing syndrome) unites together etiologically and pathogenetically different diseases, in which a prolonged chronic effect of excessive amounts of adrenal cortex hormones  (primarily cortisol) at the organism takes place, regardless of the cause, which caused an increase of these hormones concentration in the blood. Endogenous hypercorticism is considered to be a relatively rare pathology with a incidence of 2-3 cases per million population per year. As a rule, the symptoms grow quite slowly, for several months or years, which significantly complicates the timely diagnosis of the disease, without which the progression of the syndrome inevitably leads to disabling complications. Therefore, this pathology is so actual in therapeutic practice.
