Current article discusses the main problems of the modern implementation of artificial lung ventilation (ALV), highlights the criteria for the patient’s readiness for separation from ALV unit, the methods of this separation and difficulties arising during that application. The main recommendation for separation from the respirator is individual selection of the method, careful monitoring of the patient’s condition at all stages of rehabilitation.
