Abstract. Article discusses the key aspects of preparing patients with large joints pathology for arthroplasty in therapeutic practice: rational use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines for chronic pain control, prevention of postoperative infectious complications, venous thrombosis and bone fractures associated with the development of osteoporosis.
