Fractures prevention in clinical practice in a view of modern approaches for the diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis

Abstract. The article briefly outlines the main points for osteoporosis diagnosis and treatment, the main task of which is to prevent osteoporotic or low-energy fractures. Achievement of such a result is possible only in the case of regular and long-term modern pathogenetic therapy use. The article highlights the main anti-osteoporotic medicines (bisphosphonates, denosumab, teriparatide) and indications for their prescription, as well as for the transfer from one drug to another, allowing to find a personalized approach to each patient. Also, much attention is paid to calcium and vitamin D, the norms of their consumption with food or in the form of pharmacological agents are highlighted.
