Abstract. The aim of the study: to analyze the effectiveness and safety of the use of dietary products for detoxification of the body as an additional tool for nutritional support of hospitalized patients with COVID-19.
Material and methods. The study involved 140 patients of both gender groups with moderate severity of the disease, aged from 19 to 79 years. The patients were divided into two comparable gender and age groups (70 people per group). The main group, along with standard treatment and diet, additionally received specialized products of dietary therapeutic and preventive nutrition Kissel LEOVIT «With the flu» and Detoxifying Kissel LEOVIT DETOX throughout the course hospitalization.
Results and conclusion. Complex treatment with the use of dietary food for detoxification, resulted in the decrease of most symptoms in the main group. The frequency of diarrhea among men decreased by 15%, among women – by 30%. The frequency of complaints of weakness among men decreased by about a third, among women by 60%. Moreover, in the comparison group, the positive dynamics of symptom relief was less pronounced. The analysis of biochemical parameters showed a significant decrease in markers of inflammation (CRP and ESR), an improvement in the parameters of liver detoxification enzymes (ALT and AST) in the group of patients receiving nutritional support with the use of detoxification foods in the diet.
