The aim: to study the features of the course of multiple sclerosis with comorbid autoimmune thyroid pathology and depressive disorders
Material and methods. We examined 122 patients with a reliable diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS) according to the McDonald criteria of 2010, 87 patients with remitting type of bleeding (RMS), 35 patients with a secondary-progressive type of multiple sclerosis (SPMS), with a disease duration of 8±2,5 years. The patients were divided into two groups comparable in gender and age: 72 patients with MS without comorbid pathology (61 patients with RMS, 11 with SPMS), 50 with MS and autoimmune thyroid disease in the second group (36 patients with RMS, 14 with SPMS). Thyroid dysfunction was manifested by hypothyroidism on the background of thyroiditis and nodulation in the form of clinical and subclinical forms.
Results. In patients with comorbid autoimmune thyroid disease and depression, high activity and rate of progression of MS, more pronounced neurological disorders, and a decrease in adequate vegetative maintenance of activity and rehabilitation resource were found.
Conclusions. The obtained data can characterize the inefficiency of BMI application and be used to determine the unfavorable prognosis of pathogenetic treatment.
