Abstract. Currently, there is a sufficient arsenal of non-drug treatments for patients with cardiovascular pathology. One such treatment is the implantation of intracardiac devices, in particular permanent artificial pacemakers and cardioverter defibrillators. Over the past few years, there has been a steady increase in the number of implantations of intracardiac devices, which is explained by the expansion of indications for their installation. Along with the proven effectiveness of implantation of intracardiac devices, this method is associated with the development of a number of complications, among which there is infection of cardiac implants. Our clinical observation testifies to the difficulties in diagnosing infective endocarditis in patients with the presence of a cardioverter-defibrillator.
