This paper presents current approach on prevalence, etiology, pathogenesis, presentations, diagnosis and treatment of atypical hemolytic-uremic syndrome (aHUS). We also demonstrates the clinical case of the woman of 36 years after performing a procedure for separate diagnostic curettage of the uterus. The disease was accompanied by the development of fever, circulatory failure, gastrointestinal syndrome and acute renal damage. The uniqueness of this case lies in the extremely rare occurrence of aHUS in the population, as well as in the width of the differential-diagnostic search carried out. The crucial point in the diagnosis of the case presented was the determination of the main syndrome in the clinical picture of the disease - thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA).
