Clinical and demographic characteristics of 256 patients with systemic lupus erythematosus in the Republic of Tatarstan

Purpose: to study demographic, epidemiological and clinical data of patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) in the Republic of Tatarstan.
Material and methods. A retrospective study of inpatient records of patients with SLE treated in the nephrological and rheumatology Department of the Republican clinical hospital of Kazan from 2004 to 2018 was conducted. 1598 inpatient records were studied.
Results. The study group included 256 patients with SLE: 230 women, 26 men. The age at diagnosis of SLE in women was 30,0 [23,0; 41,0] years, in men 25,5 [18,0; 37,0] years. One of the most frequent manifestations of SLE was the defeat of the musculoskeletal system, the defeat of the skin and mucous membranes and VN. 5-, 10 -, 15-year survival of patients in our group was 93,7%, 90,8% and 86,4%, respectively.
Conclusion. The population of patients with SLE in the Republic of Tatarstan was dominated by women with a peak incidence of 29,0 [21,0; 38,0] years. The frequency of clinical manifestations and survival of patients in the study group correspond to the results of other authors.
