Food is one of the most significant factors affecting the pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of drugs. Aim of the study was the analysis of the impact of specialized dietary preventive and therapeutic products LEOVIT GASTRO (LLC «LEOVIT nutria») on the effectiveness and safety of gastrointestinal diseases pharmacotherapy.
Material and methods. A comparative study of clinical and laboratory parameters in patients with gastrointestinal diseases who received, along with standard therapy, dietary food products produced by the domestic company «LEOVIT Nutrio» was carried out. To assess the clinical efficacy and possible side effects of LEOVIT GASTRO specialized dietary food, the dynamics of the clinical picture, general blood count and some biochemical parameters in patients of the main group and the comparison group were studied.
Results. It was found that in comparison with the group of patients who did not receive additional LEOVIT GASTRO products, the main group had a significant improvement in appetite, a decrease in nausea, belching, heartburn, and epigastric discomfort. Supplementing the diet with the dietary products «Vegetable puree soup with herbs and oatmeal», «Oatmeal porridge with herbs and flax seed», «Protein-sea buckthorn cocktail» significantly improves laboratory parameters, leading to a decrease in the content of liver enzymes (AST, ALT, GGT) as well as total bilirubin. The results obtained made it possible to establish the safety and the absence of any undesirable effects, including allergic reactions.
Conclusion. Specialized dietary preventive and therapeutic products LEOVIT GASTRO improve the effectiveness of pharmacotherapy of gastrointestinal diseases and reduce the side effects of drug therapy.
