Asthma is a socially significant, widespread disease. Statistical data on the prevalence of asthma are significantly different from epidemiological studies, which is associated with under-diagnosis of this pathology. There is a significant deficit in the detection patients between registered and true morbidity. Therefore, the diagnosis of asthma, especially at an early stage of the disease, remains an urgent problem. There is a need to increase the level of knowledge in this area, especially for General practitioners. The purpose of compiling a diagnostic algorithm for asthma is to provide methodological assistance to doctors who are not specialists of allergology and pulmonology. The algorithm is based on modern international and federal recommendations for the diagnosis of asthma. The implementation of the diagnostic algorithm in the work of primary care physicians will help to increase the level of diagnosis of asthma at an early stage of the disease, and reduce the number of unverified cases of the disease.
